2018

On Sunday, June 24th, from noon to 6 PM, the Wisteria Community Association celebrated their annual Summer Fling in the Park. The BBQ and Pig Roast dinner began at 3 PM, along with the music by Paul Gogo and others. Our goal to feed and empower Nanaimo's homeless and low-income families is supported by this evening. All proceeds went to services that serve the people in our community who need it the most.

Shout-Out from Attendees

Thank you to all the fantastic volunteers, cooks, security guards, The *Wave* Radio station, the First Aid station set, Tanya, Doug, and everyone else who worked so hard. We are grateful to all the musicians who contributed their time and expertise and gave outstanding performances. Also, a big thank you to Matthew for running the pig roast.

The kids had a terrific time. They danced, people mixed, and it was a wonderful day. A big shout-out to a dear buddy Jayebird, who also put time and effort into this event on the music side. Always obtain permission before photographing others, and thank you to those who agreed to allow us to photograph them.

Caring & Sharing

Summer Fling was a huge success, thanks to everyone's efforts. It's wonderful to see so many volunteers willing to care and share. Despite the weather, we'd also want to thank everyone who strived to make Summer Fling such a success for so many people.

We thank Donna, Mike, and the rest of the team for their hard work preparing the vegetables and salads, which went over so well. Finally, we'd like to thank everyone who came out in the rain and enjoyed this remarkable BBQ. Tanya, Doug, and the rest of the staff are commended for pulling this all together.
